The right of reply regarding an article published by the Antena 3 website

Following the article published on the Antena 3 website, entitled “Chaos at the airport: People are forced to sleep on the floor, at Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest”, in which it is stated that “the airport representatives did not offer any official point of view and they did not announce when the problem could be solved ", we bring the following clarifications:

The General Manager of Bucharest Airports National Company had an official position at the request of Antena 3 reporter, expressing, at the same time, his willingness to give an interview.

The situation presented in the article is caused by flight cancellations due to airlines and handling companies facing a huge staffing crisis, at the same time with an increasing air traffic. Henri Coandă International Airport has the obligation to provide passengers with the necessary conditions for waiting, which is why there has been set a waiting area in the passage between the Arrivals and Departures terminals.

At the same time, in order to ensure a safe, in time boarding for all passengers, it has been repeatedly communicated the need to arrive early at the airport - 2.5 to 3 hours before departure. This recommendation is valid at most high-traffic airports (Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Prague, etc.) and is also transmitted by airlines.

The flight whose delay caused the biggest inconvenience to the passengers was the one to Milan Malpensa (RYR8735) - the delay was determined by the shortage of flight attendants. It was originally scheduled to take off yesterday, June 18, at 11:40 p.m., and took off today, June 19, at 3:55 p.m.

During the entire period that the passengers had to stay at the airport, they received all available information from the handling company and from the airport staff.
