A moment of musical eternity at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport

In 2020 the world celebrates the 250^th anniversary of one of the most inspiring musical geniuses – Ludwig van Beethoven.

The year 2020 proved to be rather challenging for people throughout the world, but the health crisis and its economic and social implications also underline how interconnected we all are.

Bucharest Airports decided to join The Beethoven Anniversary Society in their proposal to celebrate the spirit of human unity and resilience with Beethoven`s beautiful and uplifting music.

The Beethoven Moment was a global cultural event, that took place simultaneously across continents on the day of the composer’s birth, December 16. Thus, the well-known 5^th Symphony, also known as the "Symphony of Destiny", composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, resounded in the Departures Terminal, in full synchronicity with several other airports. Along with Henri Coanda Airport, this event was attended by other airports such as: Athens, Budapest, Moscow Sheremetyevo, Minsk, Munich, Novosibirsk, Sarajevo, Riga, Zagreb and Zurich.
